Do you use popular social media websites like LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube? Media Access Australia, a not-for-profit organisation devoted to increasing access to media for people with disabilities, has published a social media guide with information about overcoming accessibility issues with popular social media websites.

Getting expert help

Information is available about who you can contact for expert help with choosing assistive technology solutions that are appropriate for you or a person you care for.

Mobile phone accessibility

The Global Accessibility Reporting Initiative (GARI) allows people to search for a mobile phone based on the physical features of the phone, and features assisting people with:

  • mobility/dexterity impairment
  • vision impairment
  • hearing or speech impairment
  • cognition impairment.

You can access the database to search for a mobile phone online.
