Markdown - Connected communities challenge
Markdown is a proof of concept application that provides a way for senior and companion card holders to find local businesses offering discounted products or services while encouraging them to get out and connect with their community.
The app is built for mobile devices and is easy to use. Users simply select a business category they’re looking for to find a list of discounted services and businesses within walking distance.
The project won the Queensland Government’s 2018 GovHack Connected communities challenge.

By promoting businesses within walking distance, users are encouraged to increase physical activity and connect with their local businesses leading to improved health and a reduction in social isolation.
