Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month

The month of May marks Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month in Queensland, an annual initiative to raise community awareness of domestic and family violence and coercive control, and the support services available.

The awareness-raising events, projects or activities held during the month align with the Domestic and family violence prevention strategy 2016–2026.

You can continue to follow the conversation year-round on the Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Queensland Facebook page.

2023 theme

The theme for 2023 is ‘It’s in our control to end coercive control’. The hashtags for social media use are #endDFV, #endcoercivecontrol and #DFVPM2023.
