Should you be experiencing emotional stress or personal financial hardship from these events, and personal hardship financial assistance has not been activated for your community, you are encouraged to contact your local emergency relief provider or counselling service. View a list of these providers.

Activation areas

Personal hardship financial assistance and the Essential Services Safety and Reconnection Scheme has been activated for people impacted by the bushfire event in the following locations:

Gladstone Regional Council area:

Targeted areas have been activated in the following localities: Berajondo, Euleilah, Lowmead and Mount Maria

Services following a disaster

Government and non-government organisations provide a range of services following a disaster that may include:

  • information on self-recovery
  • referral to support agencies
  • direct personal support and referral to counselling
  • referral to financial counselling
  • referral to mental health
  • referral to agencies providing material assistance
  • financial assistance and emergency relief funding
  • referral to accommodation and housing services
  • referral to other agencies to assist resilience building
  • long-term support to assist with individual and community resilience through community development strategies and activities.
