What interests you about participating in the Queensland Indigenous Youth Leadership Program?

It would be an amazing experience to come together with other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people with an interest in developing leadership skills and creating positive change within our communities. It would be a fantastic opportunity to learn about Queensland’s democratic processes and experience delivering a speech in Parliament House in front of Members of Parliament and Elders, and have them hear the issues affecting my people.

This program gave the young Indigenous mob the chance to be heard about matters they really cared about. It was also a huge confidence boost both in social and personal skills and in public speaking.
