Works for Queensland makes a difference to regional areas

More than 720 infrastructure projects, supporting almost  6000 jobs, will become a reality for cities and towns throughout regional  Queensland thanks to the Works for Queensland program.

This $200 million  initiative is part of a $1 billion investment by the Queensland Government to  help create jobs and deliver vital infrastructure throughout regional  Queensland. The new program delivers money directly to local councils to  support regional job-creating maintenance and minor infrastructure projects  designed to provide maximum benefit to communities. Projects include road  upgrades, upgrades to council amenities such as libraries, pools, parks and  recreational facilities, and the installation of water saving technology.
