Change the way you look at speed this Easter

Last Easter’s road toll was the worst in over 20 years, and with almost 1,000 people killed or seriously injured in speed-related crashes each year it’s time to make a change.

Speeding is one of the major killers on Queensland roads, yet many people wrongly believe that it’s not dangerous and they can do it safely. A recent study found most Queensland motorists speed occasionally and nearly half speed on most trips.

The simple fact is, the faster you drive or ride, the greater your risk of a crash and severe injury or death. Even low-level speeding greatly increases your risk, and just a couple of kilometres over the limit can have devastating consequences.

Let’s change the way we look at speed.

Help make Queensland’s roads safer by changing your speeding habits today. Drive responsibly and respect the speed limits, and talk with friends, family and colleagues about the dangers of ignoring them.
