Gambling Harm Awareness Week

Gambling can harm individuals, families and communities – and we all have a role to play in preventing and minimising the harm it can cause.

During Gambling Harm Awareness Week (24–30 July 2023) it’s your opportunity to become more aware of the risks associated with gambling and the importance of collaboration between the government, industry, and the community to foster a safer environment for those at risk of gambling harm.

It is also your opportunity to reflect on your own relationship with gambling, or that of someone important to you, and to seek help.

You can take part in events and activities across Queensland during the week to promote safer gambling practices and reduce the negative impacts gambling can have on individuals, families, and communities.

If you or someone you know is affected by gambling harm, support services are available, including free and confidential advice and counselling over the phone, online or face-to-face.

Together we can make a difference and help create a safer gambling future for all Queenslanders.
