Darkness to Daylight 2021
Now in it’s 8th year, Darkness to Daylight (D2D) is a symbolic 110km event where each kilometre represents a life lost to Domestic and Family Violence.
When you enter D2D, you are making a stand, helping to drive community awareness and intervention, and raising crucial funds to help prevent Domestic and Family Violence (DFV).
This year, D2D will take place as a virtual month-long challenge from 1–30 May, with a smaller live event on 31 May. Whether you complete 3kms, 10kms or 110kms – it’s about running or walking with purpose to stand and speak out when it comes to DFV.
The virtual challenge: 1–30 May
Participants will complete the 110km distance individually or as a team throughout the month of May. As in 2020, participants are encouraged to log their daily distance online, and share their journey and stories on social media.
The live event: Monday 31 May
In the early hours of Monday 31 May, all participants and community members will be invited to the Brisbane City Botanic Gardens to complete the final 10km as one. The live event is optional and, as in previous years, there will be a shorter option of 3km. Start times will be staggered throughout the morning.
