Review of statutory appointments

In 2015, the Public Service Commission (PSC) led a review of statutory appointments (equivalent to chief executive roles or are remunerated at that level).
The focus of the review was to:

  • determine whether statutory appointments continue to be warranted for all of these roles
  • assess if they have contemporary accountability and performance measures
  • consider the extent of their independent functions and the most suitable model of appointment of the executive role leading the agency.

In July 2015 the project draft report was finalised and progressed for Cabinet consideration.
