Queensland Certificate of Education
The Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) is the senior school qualification gained once you finish Year 12. The QCE replaced the Senior Certificate from 2008.
Vocational Education and Training (VET)
VET is school-based training for young people in years 10 to 12.
If you’re in Year 10 and would like to learn more about starting a VET course, or planning your study for Year 11 and 12, have a look through the Learning options and advice booklet.
You can start VET:
- at your school if it is a registered training organisation
- at TAFE Qld
- at another registered training organisation
- through a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship.
Some benefits of participating include:
- getting credit points towards your QCE
- helping you move to work or study after high school
- gaining practical work experience
- helping you to choose your career path.
