2.2.2 Fonts
The following guidelines relating to fonts form the basis of the rules promulgated by the CUE template style sheet for font style, size, colour and spacing:

The main font to be used is Verdana with defaults Arial, Helvetica and sans serif.
- Minimum font sizes for each element of the style sheet are as follows:
- Body copy - 80%
- Utilities - 70%
- Primary navigation - 80% (optional bold font weight)
- Secondary navigation - 75%
- Secondary navigation sub items - 70%
- Page options - 75%
- Breadcrumbs - 70%
- Heading 1 - 100%
- Heading 2 - 90%
- Heading 3 - 80%
- Headings 4 - 6 - 80%
- Feature column - 75%
- Captions - 75%
- Footer - 65%
- For navigation (utilities, primary, secondary and footer):
- All hyperlinks will be underlined
- For white background areas:
- all hyperlinks will be blue;
- active links red; and
- previously visited links purple.
- Colours of other links will depend on the background colour if used, however, a sufficient contrast should exist.
- For headings, colours can be used with the following guidelines:
- The colour used is in substantial contrast to the white background
- Headings in the default link colours should not be used
- Colours including, but not limited to, the supporting colours palette in the Corporate Identity Manual, Section 3.18
- Colours from the 216 colour web-safe palette can be used
- For the content area:
- All pages will display black text on white backgrounds;
- All hyperlinks will be underlined; and
- blue;
- active links red; and
- previously visited links purple.
NOTE: All navigation elements must be of consistent font, colour and appearance, this can be achieved by using the stylesheet supplied with the CUE template.
