Overview

Current Standards

The CUE standard has been developed to complement and incorporate, rather than replace, the existing standards. The following standards currently exist.

Information Standard 26
Information Standard 26 (Internet) Principle 2 - Website consistency, provides for a consistent and client focussed view of the Queensland Government by ensuring that agency websites follow the CUE standard.

Principle 3 - Website accessibility, requires agencies to comply with World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (V1.0) and ensure checkpoints assigned a "Priority 1" and "Priority 2" are in place.

Corporate Identity Manual
The government adopted a consistent approach to branding elements in April 2000. The Department of the Premier and Cabinet published a Corporate Identity Manual (GovNet access required) that prescribes common look and feel elements for all government communications material, including web sites. These guidelines include minimum sizes for reproduction of the logo, font styles, positioning and colours.  Compliance with the government corporate identity guidelines is a requirement of IS 26.

The CUE standard and guidelines will be developed so that they are consistent with and complementary to these existing standards and their future development.
