Dates
When writing dates in full, format them as: 23 May 2000; Thursday, 23 May 2000.
When expressing dates in numerals, the convention in Australia is to use dd.mm.yy or dd.mm.yyyy: 23.5.00; 23/5/00; 23.5.2000.
Format periods of time as:
- the 1990s (no apostrophe)
- the twentieth (or 20th) century
- 75 BC; 66 AD (note the space)
- the first century AD
Separate spans of time with an en rule, not a hyphen: 1995-98; 2000-04.
Quote years in full if span is over the turn of a century (1999-2004).
