Tools for engagement

GetInvolved online consultation toolkit

The GetInvolved online consultation toolkit is a suite of online community engagement tools freely available to Queensland Government agencies. It is designed for capturing and reporting community feedback on public policy, but can also be used for internal feedback. GetInvolved delivers over 100 policy consultations a year and the consultation tools are continually improving to meet the needs of Government and the community.

The tools include:

  • consultation dashboard
  • online surveys
  • forums
  • polls.

Social media

Social media, like other engagement methods, should be used as part of a comprehensive engagement strategy.

Social media is an excellent way to:

  • monitor what issues that are becoming topical in the community
  • gauge public sentiment about particular issues
  • respond to misinformation about the government’s position on an issue
  • raise awareness about opportunities to influence government decision making on an issue
  • encourage responses through official channels.
