Applying for home modifications
If you need modifications to your home, speak with your nearest Housing Service Centre. They will arrange for an occupational therapist to visit your home and assess your needs.
The occupational therapist will also look at things you might need in the future and will recommend modifications to improve your:
- safety
- independence
- health
- living conditions.
When will the work start?
We will tell you which modifications have been approved and when we expect the work to start.
Sometimes modifications mean major work to your toilet, bathroom or kitchen. This can make these rooms unusable. If you can’t use these rooms we may need to arrange temporary housing for you until the work is finished. We will talk to you about this before work on your home starts.
What happens if I need additional modifications?
If your circumstances change and you need more modifications done to your home, contact your nearest Housing Service Centre.
