Fireworks in the community

Fireworks can be dangerous in the wrong hands; they can start fires and cause severe distress or injury to people and animals.

Spectacular, safe and legal fireworks displays are authorised by the Explosives Inspectorate, a specialist division of Resources Safety and Health Queensland – the government authority that regulates the safe use of all explosives (including fireworks) in Queensland.

Authorised displays are conducted by professional, licenced operators using approved firework products. Authorised displays have met legislative requirements that include safety planning and community notification obligations.
