After a disaster, the Queensland Government works with local councils to coordinate community recovery.

Tips for volunteers

When you are volunteering to help others recover from a disaster, it is important to remember:

  • everyone reacts differently to traumatic events
  • you need to look after yourself to help others
  • not everyone is ready to accept your offer of help.
