  • Indigenous

    The Queensland Government is committed to improving education for Indigenous students in state schools.

  • English as a second language

    Schools offer support for children who need help developing their English language skills. Find out what help may be available for your child.

  • Disability

    Find out about supports provided to assist all students with disability from Prep to Year 12.

  • Extra tuition

    Teachers and guidance officers may be able to help if your child needs extra tuition. Another option is to hire a private tutor.

  • Help with homework

    Handy tips, advice and resources are available for parents to help their child with their homework.

  • Literacy and numeracy

    We’ll give you some useful tips to improve your child’s literacy and numeracy skills and point you towards helpful resources and programs.

  • Guidance and career counselling

    Guidance officers help students with their education and career goals. We’ll also explain how to research possible careers and access work experience.

  • Living in rural and remote areas

    Schools of Distance Education and boarding schools are options for students in rural and remote areas. Financial support is also available.
