Our online materials can help you improve your children's literacy, numeracy and other skills. The main database for resources in Queensland is called the 'Learning Place'.
Learning Place
The Learning Place is an eLearning environment that provides secure access to digital tools, resources and 'eSpaces'. These are places where teachers can upload resources for students to use at home; students can blog, create multimedia presentations in edStudios and share their creations in the secure edTube environment.
Access for non-state schools and universities
There is an affiliates program for Queensland non-state schools, and students and staff from Queensland universities.
There are fees and some eligibility criteria.

Other resources
- Literacy and numeracy resources and activities—for parents and children to use at home.
- Fun and educational websites to help your child—engaging educational websites to help children strengthen and consolidate their literacy, numeracy and other knowledge.
- Out and About sight words iPhone app—this free app, aimed at Prep–Year 2 students, helps children practise their sight words when they are 'out and about'. This app has been designed for parents to give to young children when they are travelling or waiting and want to fill the time in a fun and educational way.
- Information technologies in schools—ICTs (or Information and Communication Technologies) are all around us, and schools and students use technologies to enhance their learning wherever possible. The Smart Classrooms website offers some examples of how ICT strategies are incorporated into school programs and how parents can support their use at home. There is also advice about protecting children online.
Gifted and talented students
Some children may be recognised as gifted and talented students. Programs for these students include early entry to Year 1 and accelerated learning in Years 10, 11 and 12.
