Completing your school-based apprenticeship or traineeship

All apprenticeships and traineeships in Queensland are competency-based.

This means you move through your apprenticeship or traineeship as you attain competencies, rather than by finishing in a set amount of time.

When it is agreed by all parties that you have completed all the requirements of your training plan, you’ve finished—the time spent training isn’t a factor.

Once you convert to full-time or part-time arrangements, normal award wages and conditions apply.
