Government ICT
We work with Queensland Government agencies, industry and the tertiary sector to develop and implement information and communication technology (ICT) strategies.
We aim to improve government service delivery through efficient use of information and communications technology services and ensure Queensland businesses and consumers benefit from current and emerging digital technologies and services.
This includes:
- ensuring the government’s ICT investments support policy outcomes, represent good value for money, are focused on service delivery to the community, and are reliable, through the Queensland Government Chief Information Office
- helping the ICT industry engage with the Queensland Government and managing whole-of-government arrangements to make it easier for agencies to buy ICT products and services through the ICT Strategic Sourcing unit
- delivering whole-of-government and agency-specific ICT services for the Queensland Government through CITEC
- managing and supporting the majority of the sector’s finance and human resource systems and processes through Queensland Shared Services.
The Queensland Government Chief Information Officer reports directly to the Minister for Science, Information Technology, Innovation and the Arts and provides unbiased, independent advice to government ministers, directors-general and agencies on ICT management and investment issues.
