Arts Policy and Programs

Advocates for the arts and provides funding support to festivals, arts companies, public art projects and individual artists

This includes policy, research and evaluation, grants administration and art form program delivery and development. We are also responsible for community engagement, Indigenous arts and regional service delivery.

Arts Queensland is implementing the Government’s ‘Arts for all Queenslanders’ policy by ensuring people across the state can experience great arts and culture. Arts Queensland delivers this through the Super Star fund, a $3 million dollar commitment over four years to bring international stars to our own backyard to work with local companies in exclusive productions, and through Playing Queensland, which aims to increase the number of touring arts productions, extend the reach of the tours and double the touring arts experiences in regional communities.

We are supporting the Government’s Tourism Strategy through engagement in the Tourism Interdepartmental Committee, leading the development of a Cultural Precinct Strategy and investing in innovative and exciting arts and cultural events and programs to maximise cultural tourism opportunities.

The Arts Policy and Programs Division is also responsible for venue management and executive and administration support to the Arts Investment Advisory Board.
