Rail travel
Some, not all, of Queensland Rail's long distance train services are disability friendly. Let the Queensland Rail Customer Contact Centre know of your special requirements when booking your journey. If you use a wheelchair, walking frame, mobility scooter or other mobility aid, provide its dimensions.

Questions
I need a carer to travel with me. What about their costs?
Your Companion Card is valid on Queensland Rail Traveltrain services.
The 4 free rail journeys that you receive on a pension concession card can include a carer if you have a signed letter from your doctor or an organisation for people with a disability. Ask the Queensland Rail Customer Contact Centre about your circumstances.
I can walk short distances but use a mobility scooter to get around. Can I take it on the train with me?
Space can be an issue. Mobility scooters are usually stored in the baggage carriage. If travelling by tilt train, you may be able to stay on your scooter for the trip. You need to advise the Queensland Rail Customer Contact Centre when booking your seat.
