Buses

Are buses accessible?

TransLink services and South East Queensland

Most buses on the Translink network have low floors or ramp systems. Stations along busways—roads dedicated to buses—have lifts, ramps and pathways. Tactile paving for people with vision impairment and hearing augmentation for people with hearing impairment are also in place in busway stations.

Can my assistance dog ride on the bus?

Yes, as long as your animal is a certified assistance dog. Your animal must wear its assistance coat and you should travel with your assistance dog handler card.

I'm unable to touch on or touch off with the go card—what can I do?

TransLink offers an access pass to passengers who can travel independently but cannot physically swipe their go card.

Subsidies, concessions and passes

A range of subsidies, concessions and passes are available for use throughout Queensland.

More information

Contact TransLink on 13 12 30 for more information on their accessible bus services.

Accessible public transport

All new bus stops in Queensland must comply with Australia's Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport.

All existing stops will be upgraded to meet these standards.
