Accommodation

Holiday accommodation

There is no independent star-rating guide to accessible holiday accommodation in Australia. Some websites allow you to search for accommodation that has disabled access; however, what's accessible to one person may not be to another. You should always check before booking accommodation.

Some things to consider when looking for suitable accommodation include:

  • width of doorways
  • are there ramps or steps
  • shower access-is it over the bath or a step-in
  • are there railings in the bathroom.

More information

Search the Nican services directory for inclusive accommodation and travel options across Australia.

Tourism Queensland allows you to search for accommodation with disabled access.

You can also search for ‘accessible accommodation' or ‘disabled access accommodation' on the internet.
