Breaking into law: support to study

Posted 17 April 2012

Expressions of interest for the 'Breaking into Law' program and workshops closed on Thursday 26 April.

Griffith Law School is partnering with the Spinal Injuries Association to support people with physical disability with enrolling in tertiary studies in law.

Up to 10 people with physical disability will be supported with enrolling in an on-campus Griffith Law School program in Semester 2, 2012, as part of the Breaking into Law: Disability Education Options project.

What's involved?

Successful students will be given post-enrolment mentoring and peer support to assist them during their studies, and may be eligible for bursaries of up to $1500 to support them with meeting extra costs of disability and education

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply, potential students need to attend 2 workshops in May. A limited number of places are available. Topics covered will include:

  • expectations and requirements of university study
  • learning assistance available through Griffith University
  • enrolment procedures and ensuring involvement in Semester 2, 2012
  • potential career options and opportunities.
