People with a disability can participate in a variety of sports and leisure activities:
- Sports CONNECT provides initiatives to Australian athletes with a disability to improve the number of people with disability involved in sport and physical recreation
- Australian athletes with a disability—check if you’re eligible for funding to help you participate in the activity of your choice
- Get Active program helps people with disability get involved in physical activity or sport
- Sporting Wheelies organise and facilitate recreational activities and sporting opportunities at state, national and international levels for people with a physical disability or vision impairment
- Life Stream Foundation helps people with an intellectual disability to participate in sport and recreation activities
- Deaf Sports and Recreation Queensland helps the deaf and hearing impaired to participate in sports
- Riding for the Disabled Association of Queensland helps people with disabilities interact with horses through horse-riding, dressage, carriage driving, vaulting and therapeutic programs.
