You can learn practical safety techniques at free personal safety awareness workshops delivered by local police. Workshops run for 30 to 90 minutes, and are tailored to different audiences and topics. To attend one of the free personal safety awareness workshops, contact your local police station and ask for the District Crime Prevention Coordinator.

Safety of children
Child Safety Services oversees child protection and adoption services in Queensland. We aim to protect children who are at risk of harm, including when parents cannot provide enough care or protection for them.
The Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian deals with complaints about any service provided (or not being provided) in the child safety or youth justice systems. These complaints help the Commission monitor trends for changes in policies, practices or legislation to improve outcomes for Queensland children.
