About the North Coast and Fraser Coast storms

Severe storms hit the North Coast and Fraser Coast in March 2012, causing flooding and environmental and property damage to the Fraser Coast, Gympie and Sunshine Coast local government areas.

Government response

The Queensland Government activated Personal Hardship Assistance Scheme grant packages for the affected areas of the Fraser Coast, Gympie and Sunshine Coast. Applications for assistance closed on 20 April 2012.

The Queensland Reconstruction Authority provides regular updates on all disaster reconstruction efforts.
