About the Barcoo severe storm

A severe storm hit the Barcoo region near Longreach on 15 Jan 2013, causing significant environmental and property damage to the townships of Stonehenge and Jundah and surrounding areas.

Government response

The Queensland Government activated Personal Hardship Assistance Scheme grant packages for the affected areas of Stonehenge, Jundah and surrounds. Applications for assistance closed on 28 February 2013.

The Queensland Reconstruction Authority provides updates on disaster reconstruction efforts.
