Financial statements and reporting for Community Care

Financial statements and reports

Community Care providers are required to submit 2 types of financial reports*:

  • Annual financial statements (Financial Acquittal Return and Audited Financial Statement)
  • Periodic financial reports (Schedule 4 of the Service Agreement)

*Providers may also be required to submit performance reports.

Financial Acquittal Return

Organisations must submit a Financial Acquittal Return (FAR) annually for the financial year 1 July–30 June.

Audited Financial Statement

Organisations must have their accounts prepared in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB) standards and audited by an approved auditor as at 30 June of the applicable financial year.

Periodic financial reports

Periodic financial reports* must be completed using the Schedule 4 Financial Report template:

*Organisations receiving less than $50,000 per year in Community Care funding are not required to submit periodic financial reports.

Submission timeframes

Periodic Financial Report (Organisational funding $50,000 and over)

  • For period of 1 July–31 December, the due date is 31 January
  • For period of 1 January–30 June, the due date is 31 July

Financial Acquittal Report

  • For period of 1 July–30 June, the due date is 31 July

Audit report and Audited Financial Statement

  • For the period of 1 July–30 June, the due date is 30 September
