Bundaberg’s ATOD prevention program aims to prevent drug use and improve the social and emotional wellbeing of Indigenous communities.
Queensland Indigenous alcohol diversion program
The Queensland Indigenous alcohol diversion program is a voluntary treatment program for Indigenous people who have either appeared in the:
- Magistrates Court for alcohol related offences
- Children’s Court for child protection matters.

The Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Corporation for Alcohol and Drug Dependence Services (also known as the Jessie Budby Healing Centre) located in Brisbane, offers alcohol and drug education, rehabilitation and counselling services for Indigenous people.
Cape York cannabis project
The Cape York cannabis project aims to reduce cannabis use in remote communities across Queensland’s Cape York region.
Our body, our community, our choice
The Our body, our community, our choice project helps young people in remote Indigenous communities to create their own radio segment about binge drinking and alcohol use.
Accommodation support
Townsville Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Services (TAIHS)
The TAIHS’s Volatile Substance Misuse Safe Place program offers support for young people at risk of substance abuse. It includes a 72 hour rest and recovery placement for intoxicated youth aged 12-17.
Ferdy's Haven Alcohol Rehabilitation Aboriginal Corporation
If you’re an Indigenous person in rehab from substance abuse, Ferdy's Haven Alcohol Rehabilitation Aboriginal Corporation provides safe and supportive accommodation options on Palm Island.
Wunjuda Rehabilitation Centre
Cherbourg’s Wunjuda Rehabilitation Centre offers a place to stay for Indigenous people in a substance use rehab program.
