Governor-General’s Indigenous Student Teacher Scholarships

Governor-General’s Indigenous Student Teacher Scholarships provide financial support to Indigenous students. These scholarships aim to increase the number of Indigenous teachers in schools who can support Indigenous students to achieve positive education outcomes. Indigenous Youth Mobility Program

The Indigenous Youth Mobility Program helps Indigenous youth to identify a suitable point to begin training and offers support with accommodation and any education and training needs. Direct all enquiries to iymp@deewr.gov.au.

Indigenous Cadetship Program

The Indigenous Cadetship Program is offered to Indigenous students who are enrolled in an approved course of study at an Australian tertiary institution. Successful candidates are sponsored for the length of their study and once study is complete will advance to the nominated level within the department.

Puggy Hunter Memorial Scholarship

• The Puggy Hunter Memorial Scholarship provides financial help of up to $15,000 per year for Indigenous students to get a health qualification at University or TAFE (Certificate 4 or above).

• The Royal College of Nursing Australia offers scholarships for which Indigenous people to study nursing and midwifery.

Australian Dental Association Study Grants for Indigenous dental students

The Australian Dental Association Study Grant is a grant of $5000 for Indigenous students to help with costs while studying for a dentistry qualification.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Pharmacy Scholarship Scheme

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Pharmacy Scholarship Scheme offers Indigenous students up to $15,000 per year for pharmacy studies at university.
