    Communities and Disability Services Minister Lindy Nelson-Carr has announced the statewide roll out of the new Queensland Carer Business Discount Card, which will save an estimated 87,000 care givers between 5-10 % off retail products and services. Already 2,500 businesses across the state have signed up.

  2. 48% rate cap to be introduced on 31 July

    The Bligh Government's interest rate cap of 48% inclusive of interest,fees and charges will start from 31 July 2008. This rate cap will help to protect vulnerable consumers who have been subject to interest rates of up to 1600%, particularly from pay day lenders.

    Be the proud owner of a signed Queensland State of Origin jersey. As part of the Queensland Premier's wager with the NSW Premier, the signed Maroon's jersey is now up for auction. All money raised will go to charity. Be quick - auction closes on Sunday 13 July.
