Rise and Shine Queensland
The Queensland Government in partnership with Queensland Music Festival delivered the Rise and Shine Queensland concert tour to nine flood affected regions throughout the state.
The events provided the perfect opportunity for people to take a break, reflect on the year and celebrate their community spirit and resilience.
Commencing in May 2013, the Rise and Shine tour travelled to:
- Rockhampton – Saturday 4 May
- Biloela – Sunday 5 May
- Gympie – Saturday 11 May
- Bundaberg – Sunday 12 May
- Gayndah – Friday 17 May
- Gatton – Saturday 18 May
- Maryborough – Sunday 19 May
- Ipswich – Saturday 25 May
- Tamborine Mountain – Sunday 26 May
Artists such as Ella Hooper, Beccy Cole, Ash Grunwald, Gina Jeffreys, Andrew Morris, Mental as Anything, Classik Nawu, Deborah Conway, The Jungle Giants and James Morrison performed throughout the tour.
Communities also enjoyed family and children’s activities, recreational rides and a free barbeque.
The official close of the Rise and Shine tour will take place in July as part of the Queensland Music Festival.
