Queensland Week Schools Competition

The 2011 Queensland Week Dress as your Queensland Hero Day School Photographic Competition winners have been announced.

Queensland primary school students (Prep to Year 7) joined in the Queensland Week celebrations by participating in Dress as your Queensland Hero Day on Friday 10 June.

Students were encouraged to come to school dressed as their favourite Queensland icon, community hero or inspirational character.

Teachers could also submit a photograph of students dressed as their Queensland hero.

Photographs of students in their colourful and creative hero costumes were submitted from across the state, with judging proving to be a particularly difficult task.

Winning entries received a Nintendo DS and Big Brain Academy pack and Highly Commended entries received a Canon IXUS 105 12MP digital camera.

Congratulations to all the winners and the highly commended.
