Queensland’s Day Out

On Sunday 12 June 2011 South Bank Parklands came alive with excitement, colour and celebration for Queensland’s Day Out.

The celebrations began with recognition of Brisbane’s Disaster Heroes, honoured for their dedication, resilience and strength during the Queensland floods.

The crowd was entertained by performances from some of Queensland’s most popular artists:

  • Clare McFadden and The Flying Orchestra
  • Jaleos Flamenco
  • Kooi
  • Pear and the Awkward Orchestra
  • Miguel
  • The Lamplights
  • Imanzi
  • Bollywood Dhamaka

plus many more.

There were also a variety of free activities and workshops including crown making art workshops, Aussie Farmers Direct cooking demonstrations, seed planting, circus workshops, Australia Zoo animals and music making.
