Queensland Week Citizenship Ceremony

On Saturday 4 June 2011, 500 new Australian citizens were welcomed at the Queensland Week Citizenship Ceremony at Suncorp Piazza, the Parklands, Southbank.

Queensland’s diversity has been enriched by people from over 50 countries, including Estonia, Poland, Czechoslovakia, India, Sweden, Afghanistan, Singapore, Germany, New Zealand, United Kingdom and Columbia to name a few.

Friends, family and fellow Queenslanders filled the piazza and waved the Australian flag to mark this special occasion. Brisbane songstress Francesca de Valence concluded the proceedings singing ‘I am Australian’.
