Request a meeting (deputation)

All Community Cabinet meetings are announced two to three weeks before the event.

Once announced you will be able request a formal deputation on this page via an online form.

Make the most of your formal deputation

Requesting a deputation

Clearly print:

  • your issues on the deputation form, giving as much detail as possible.
  • the name(s) of everyone who will attend (for name labels).

Attending a deputation

  • Arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time.
  • Register at the registration desk at the entrance—collect and wear your name tag.
  • Wait in the waiting area—the marshalling officer will look for you here to take you to meet the minister(s).
  • Be disciplined—if in a group, appoint one person as a spokesperson (more than one speaker can be distracting).
  • Stay focused—prepare dot points about the issues you wish to raise.
  • Outline the actions you seek within the first 5 minutes.
  • Leave additional paperwork with the minister(s) if needed.
